Female body armor secures Hanscom defenders
Defenders from the 66th Security Forces Squadron recently received the newest issue of body armor designed specifically for females. The developed armor is a lighter weight than previous editions and features a curved chest plate and shorter torso size. An adjustable corset tightens to fit the wearer, distinguishing it from a one-size-fits-all piece of equipment.

Metals Technology Airmen reduce two year wait time to two month critical part production
On, July 6, 2021, Airmen from the 366th Maintenance Squadron’s (MXS) Metals Technology section began production on a critical structural beam within the main landing gear wheel, known as a trunnion beam. A trunnion beam houses the main landing gear strut in which the gear pivots when lowering and raising.

In May 2021, the NATO interoperability exercise Ramstein Ambition 21 made headlines about the successful execution of JIGSAW, a software package developed by Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s (AFLCMC) Detachment 12, also known as Kessel Run, used for planning tanker refueling missions.

Skyborg Successfully Integrates into Orange Flag Large Force Test Event
WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB, Ohio (AFLCMC) – The Skyborg team conducted a two hours and thirty minutes flight test on June 24 of the Skyborg autonomy core system (ACS) aboard a General Atomics MQ-20 Avenger tactical unmanned vehicle during the Orange Flag 21-2 Large Force Test Event at Edwards AFB, California.
