Directorate Program Partners with Agile Services Office to Adopt Scrum Framework Published July 23, 2026 By Anthony Maddin and Hanna Gabriel WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- A key enterprise-level program, in a partnership with the Business and Enterprise Systems (BES) Agile Services Office (ASO), launched its first Agile Sprint for two new Scrum teams, meeting their target date ahead of schedule. The milestone reflects the program’s adoption of the Scrum framework to improve mission delivery. The transition began with an Agile training plan designed to build knowledge and awareness across the team. Training included self-guided materials, individual and group coaching sessions, and an immersive two-day Agile bootcamp for program staff and leadership. The effort helped establish a shared understanding of Agile fundamentals. “Our approach focuses on partnership and empowerment,” said an Agile Coach involved with the effort. After training, coaches led working sessions where team members applied their skills by developing materials needed to support their first sprint. The program also focused on supporting newly assigned Product Owners (PO) and Scrum Masters (SM) through mentoring. As a result, the PO’s and SM’s established a defined product vision, business objectives and product goals, creating the structure needed to support the new approach. This effort highlights the role integrated Agile coaching in supporting cross-functional teams and improving delivery.
