Col Boris Shif is the Director of Intelligence for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. In this role, he is responsible for leading over 130 analysts and engineers at six geographically separated locations in providing Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) analysis, information, and support for developing and sustaining warfighting systems, focusing on threat definition and assessments, geospatial information and services, and ISR Infrastructure.
Col Shif enlisted in the Air Force in 1995 as a public health technician. After assignments to Hurlburt Field and Aviano AB, he was selected for Airman Scholarship and Commissioning Program in 1999. Col Shif completed ROTC at University of Texas in 2001. He has extensive operational intelligence experience in flying unit operations, collection management, geo-political analysis, training/instructing, MAJCOM-level planning/targeting, and served as an action officer on SOCOM and SAF staffs. During his multiple deployments, he served as sole Special Operations Command Pacific analyst in Indonesia, Analyst for Special Operations Command Central, Combined Forces Special Operations Component Command-Afghanistan ISR manager, and Deputy J2, TF-27. Prior to his current assignment, Col Shif served as Chief, Analysis Division, Directorate of ISR, U.S. Air Forces in Europe-U.S. Air Forces Africa, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. He was responsible for leading a 42-member division analyzing adversary capabilities and intent in support of two combatant commands.
