Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime hosted its first Bombers Directorate Working Group July 29 – 30 at Defense Supply Center Columbus, in support of the U.S. Air Force B-1B and B-2 Strategic Bombers. Thirty-four personnel attended the event, representing DLA Land and Maritime, DLA Aviation and the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Bombers Directorate out of Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma.

DLA Land and Maritime hosts first Bombers Directorate Working Group
A U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer aircraft assigned to the 34th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron at Ellsworth Air Force Base in flight over the United States on July 2, 2025. The B-1 is a long-range, supersonic bomber built for high-speed, low-level missions and heavy conventional payloads. A U.S. Air Force member of the 9th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron prepares a 9th Reconnaissance Wing TU-2S Dragon Lady piloted by Cory “ULTRALORD” Bartholomew, 1st Reconnaissance Squadron (RS) assigned flight safety officer and U-2 instructor pilot, and Lt. Col. “JETHRO”, 1st RS instructor pilot and U-2 chief pilot, at Beale Air Force Base (AFB), California, Aug. 1st, 2025. “ULTRALORD” and “JETHRO”’s flight took place on the 70th anniversary of the U-2’s first flight and broke the endurance records for the U-2, flying longer than 14 hours and traveled over 6,000 nautical miles.
