HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Helping agency officials at Hanscom AFB want parents and caregivers to know they have access to a Massachusetts Parental Stress Line that offers free support and guidance to overcome non-urgent parenting issues.
According to officials, the Parental Stress Line serves as a confidential, 24/7 helpline tailored to navigate the journey of raising children. The toll-free number is 1-800-632-8188.
“The Hanscom Integrated and Resilience office stands firm in our commitment to providing unwavering support to the Hanscom community,” said Kristin Wright, integrated prevention chief. “As part of this dedication, we are spotlighting a vital resource to those in Massachusetts: the Parental Stress Line.”
Whether facing everyday hurdles or seeking guidance on specific parenting issues, Wright said the resource offers a compassionate ear and valuable insights to assist parents.
"Our goal is to empower parents and caregivers to develop their own solutions to the challenges they face," she said. "Enhancing parenting skills by providing confidence, support, and tools can not only alleviate immediate stressors but also mitigate the risk of abuse happening."
Funded by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Parental Stress Line extends its support to anyone in parental or caregiver roles, including mothers and fathers, grandparents, foster parents, older siblings, childcare providers, and babysitters. All Massachusetts residents can access this resource.
For those outside of Massachusetts, the 24/7 National Parent & Youth Helpline serves as an alternative avenue for seeking assistance at 1-855-427-2736.
Officials highlight the resource aligns with the installation’s Comprehensive Integrated Primary Prevention Plan and Strategic Plan.
“The Parental Stress Line is nestled within Line of Effort 2: ‘Building Better Airmen,’ in the 66th Air Base Group Strategic Plan,” said Wright. “Additionally, this resource is in direct alignment with the installation’s child safety priority.”
