An outside perspective on Women Owned Small Businesses (AFMC podcast) Published March 10, 2024 By Air Force Lifecycle Management Center Public Affairs Team WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB, Ohio (AFLCMC) - To celebrate Women's History Month 2024, the latest episode of AFMC's Contracting Experience Podcast deserves mention. Episode 52 of the podcast series takes a deep dive into the world of women-owned small businesses (WOSBs). AFMC has made great strides over the past few years in their small business targeted programs, often exceeding established goals. One area where the command has historically struggled is the number of contract awards and obligations to WOSBs. Podcast host and AFMC contracting officer Amber Pecoraro talks with founding members and current Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of WOSBs who were able to find success doing business with the federal government. During the discussion, two CEOs detail the challenges they initially experienced when first attempting to do business with the government, and then outlined individual paths to success. This year’s Department of Defense Women’s History Month theme is Women Who Have Made Great Achievements.
