Richard A. Blakewood is the Deputy Director of Intelligence for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He is responsible for providing timely Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) analysis, information, and support for developing and sustaining warfighting systems, focusing primarily on intelligence strategic planning, future threat definition and assessments, intelligence supportability analysis, intelligence mission data, and ISR infrastructure.
Mr. Blakewood graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 2001. While on active duty, he served as an intelligence officer in assignments at Royal Air Force Lakenheath, MacDill Air Force Base, and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. As an Air Force Civilian, he has primarily focused on intelligence support to acquisition, having served in a variety of intelligence assignments at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center, Air Force Materiel Command Headquarters, and Air Force Life Cycle Management center. As an Air National Guardsman, Lt Col Blakewood has commanded at the Squadron and Detachment levels and is currently the Deputy Commander of the 181st ISR Group. During his active duty and reserve career, he deployed in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, and FREEDOM'S SENTINEL and has commanded ISR operations in support of Operations INHERENT RESOLVE and ODYSSEY DAWN.
