THOMAS M. CLOHESSY

Col Thomas M. Clohessy, Deputy Director of Contracting, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He guides contracting policy for 13 acquisition Directorates at three Operating Locations, ensuring workforce development for more than 2,000 contracting professionals and manages a contract execution staff of over 200 professionals. Col Clohessy guides more than $43 billion in annual obligations for 11 Program Executive Officers and 2 Direct Report Divisions. He is also responsible for more than 550 Air Force, joint and allied warfighting programs valued at more than $278 billion in active contracts. These programs include F-22, F-16, and F-15 fighter aircraft; C-17 and C-5 cargo aircraft; the KC-46 tanker aircraft, B-1 and B-2 bomber aircraft; and Predator, Global Hawk and Reaper remotely piloted aircraft.

Col Clohessy received his commission through the University of Illinois, Champaign/Urbana ROTC program. He has served in a variety of positions in the contracting career field at Squadron, Wing, Joint Staff and Air Staff Level.  Col Clohessy is Certified Level III, in Contracting. He commanded twice at the squadron level as the 48th Contracting Squadron commander, RAF Lakeneheath, UK and as the 506th Expeditionary Support Squadron Commander, Thumrait, Oman.  Prior to his current position, Col Clohessy was the SOF Warrior Contracting Division Chief at SOF Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics Directorate, HQ USSOCOM, MacDill AFB, FL.
