Military Working Dog Flex Retirement

Military Working Dog “Flex” officially began his retirement Feb. 9, 2026 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, after serving for six and a half years, logging over 3,000 hours of explosive detection and security details. Flex’s former handler, Staff Sgt. Ben Tombs-Webster, adopted him following his retirement. (U.S. Air Force by Jack Gardner)
