Strengthening the Enterprise: IDO Welcomes New Deputy Director

Col. Charles “Leans” McNiel assumed leadership as the deputy director for the Integrated Development Office (IDO) during a ceremony on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, Sept. 15, 2025. The IDO’s director, Amanda Gentry, presided over the ceremony. The IDO is an Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) level organization which collaborates with stakeholders across the defense enterprise to develop war fighting capabilities faster and more more effectively. It is responsible for developing and fielding new, integrated and interoperable war fighting capabilities to meet force design needs and to counter emerging threats.
