Tinker commemorates D-Day 80th anniversary at combat dining out

Tinker Air Force Base held a combat dining out June 8, 2024, where over 300 Team Tinker members and Community Partners gathered to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of D-Day and enjoy a night of friendly competition and camaraderie. The evening included a performance by the OKC Philharmonic, a somber reflection of history, and friendly competitions such as water fights and tug of war. It was a memorable way to honor the legacy of D-Day while building stronger bonds with the base community. D-Day, June 6, 1944, marked the beginning of the liberation of Europe. Allied Forces’ execution of Operation Overlord was the largest air, land and sea invasion in history and eventually led to the defeat of the Axis Forces that controlled Europe.
