Hill volunteers teamed with personnel from the managed wireless solutions company OptConnect Sept. 11, 2023, to form a 62-person workforce to work at the Layton American Legion Post 87. Inside, the work consisted of repairing, repainting and resealing log walls that had gaps in places large enough to extend fingers through. Outside, the volunteers pulled weeds, pruned back trees and bushes, removed stumps, leveled the ground, added new plants, laid mulch, relocated and rebuilt a horseshoe pit and replaced fencing.
