Constructive Service Credit now offered to applicants of two Space Force career fields
Col. John Smail, Senior Cyber Officer for the U.S. Space Force, recites the Oath of Office with then 2nd Lt. Jessica Thompson during her commissioning ceremony July 2022 in a photo studio near Arlington, Texas. Now a first lieutenant upon graduating from Officer Training School, Thompson was one of six cyber professionals offered a commission out of 358 Constructive Service Credit applicants. She was able to commission to a higher rank and grade through the direct commissioning program based on her advanced cyber degree, skills and experience, which are considered critical by U.S. Space Force.
