AFLCMC NDI goes digital on aircraft inspections: saves money, improves operations for Air Force
Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Materials Engineer Ernesto Nieto positions an imaging plate from a computed radiography system during a pre-production test of the equipment at the 138th Fighter Wing at Tulsa Air National Guard Base, Oklahoma. The system, now proven to meet Air Force requirements and adopted, is expected to replace all legacy film-based X-ray nondestructive inspections in the service within the next five years.
