AFLCMC recognizes top engineers at annual awards ceremony
Jorge F. Gonzalez former Director of Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Engineering and Technical Management / Services Directorate presents the 2017 Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Director’s Award to Stephen L. VanHorn, Chief, Information Technology Systems, Systems Engineering Services Division, Engineering and Technical Management/Services Directorate during a ceremony at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, Feb. 15, 2018. VanHorn reinvigorated AFLCMC's ability to conduct in-house, physics-based engineering analysis through standup of DEATH STAR labs at Wright-Patterson, Eglin, Hanscom, Tinker, Robins and Hill Air Force Bases. Through his leadership of the DEATH STAR Integrated Product Team, Air Force engineers now have a greatly enhanced ability to understand system capabilities and limitations, thus leading to more data-driven, achievable requirements and a better, more cost-effective product for the warfighter.
