ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- Senior Airman Shreta Prasad, 53rd Air Traffic Control Squadron, Airfield and Weather Systems technician, also serves as a Deployable Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems instructor, teaching the squadron’s newly assigned trainees and “Just-in-Time” equipment familiarization courses.
The courses she instructs prepares Total Force Airmen to maintain and modernize ATC equipment and facilities utilized by Combatant Commanders. Her shared knowledge and skills have allowed the squadron to slash upgrade training from an 18-month average to six months.
In order to continue training during the COVID-19 pandemic, Prasad has developed and enforced sanitation standards within her classrooms and equipment. Additionally, she has adjusted her instruction sessions to adapt to new hours and smaller classes enabling continued instruction while maintaining social distancing.
“She has been my go-to instructor for continuation training. She has lead her class through 600 plus required tasks to attain their 5-skill level,” said Chief Master Sgt. Joseph “Robby” Robinson, 53rd ATC chief enlisted manager.
“Her tireless efforts and attention to detail have made our operations during COVID-19 not only productive, but with minimal impact to class timelines. She truly exemplifies excellence and a dedication to the mission rarely seen during normal operations,” said Robinson.
