TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Stuart Cousineau, KC-135 Systems Program Office engineer at Tinker Air Force Base Okla., was recently awarded the Meritorious Civilian Service Award by Brig. Gen. John Newberry, Program Executive Officer for the Tankers Directorate.

The Meritorious Civilian Service Award is the fourth highest award given to civilian employees within the Department of the Air Force.

Cousineau was nominated for the award based on his outstanding performance from January 1991 through April 2019.

During this time, he was the engineering expert for the Foreign Military Sales Branch for five C/KC-135 partner nations. He provided unparalleled maintenance training and development to partner nations, growing confidence and allowing them autonomy to execute proper sustainment for their aircraft and advanced the Secretary of Defense and Chief of Staff of the Air Force’s alliance priorities.

Outside of supporting the Air Force mission, Cousineau is actively involved in community service where he has served as a Cub Scout pack leader, a tutor for Del City elementary, and gives back to conservation efforts by conducting beautification and cleanup projects with community neighborhoods in Norman.  For the ceremony, he was accompanied by his wife, Linda Cousineau who he says is the best boss in the world.
