In support of the Department of War’s (DoW) strategic objectives, the War Planning and Execution Systems Branch modernized Logistical Feasibility Analysis Capability (LOGFAC), a system used to support planning and operational analysis.

The updated system provides data to help Air Force planners assess logistical feasibility and align operational plans with strategic objectives outlined in the National Defense Strategy (NDS).  The NDS outlines priorities to improve readiness, deter adversaries and strengthen the industrial base. LOGFAC supports those efforts by providing analysis that helps planners develop operational plans. It gives leaders data to evaluate capabilities and identify potential shortfalls.

Industrial Base and Readiness
A key focus of the NDS is strengthening the defense industrial base. LOGFAC supports this effort by providing visibility into war resource materiel, global asset availability and sustainment requirements. The system allows decision-makers to assess resource capability and identify areas where additional support may be needed.

Technology and Modernization
The system was also updated as part of a broader effort to replace legacy technology. LOGFAC transitioned from an Oracle Forms application to a cloud-based architecture hosted in AWS Cloud One at Impact Levels 4 and 6.

According to program officials, the modernization provides several operational improvements:
  • Agility and Speed: The system now uses a DevSecOps model that allows teams to deliver updates more quickly and respond to changing mission needs.
  • Security: The program resolved security findings and aligned with the Continuous Authority to Operate framework, improving security for classified operations on SIPRNet.
  • Usability: A browser-based interface improves accessibility and reduces training requirements for users.
Throughout the modernization, the program maintained operational availability for its global users. More than 150 legacy forms and reports were migrated to the new platforms without interrupting operations.

Officials said the updated system provides planners with improved tools to evaluate feasibility, identify resource gaps, and global operations.
