Wright-Patterson Air Force Base will host the Hiring Our Heroes Career Summit on April 23, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hope Hotel & Richard C. Holbrooke Conference Center, continuing a longstanding effort to connect military-affiliated job seekers with meaningful employment opportunities.

Since 2019, the annual event has brought together transitioning service members, veterans and military spouses with employers seeking highly skilled talent. This year’s summit is expected to feature more than 40 employers offering opportunities across a range of career fields.

“Last year’s Hiring Our Heroes event showed strong demand within our community, with more than 300 job seekers connecting directly with employers, said Stacia Wren, community readiness consultant with the 88th Force Support Squadron. “This year, our focus is building on that momentum by expanding access to resources, guidance and opportunities that help service members, veterans and military spouses move forward in their careers.”

The event is designed to support job seekers at every stage of their career journey, offering a combination of professional development, networking and direct hiring opportunities.

Event highlights include:

  • Learning opportunities: Gain insights into fellowships and internships, upskilling and reskilling programs, professional development for military spouses, and strategies for building a strong LinkedIn presence.
  • Networking and job insights: Connect with representatives from military-friendly companies hiring locally and nationwide, and receive guidance from hiring managers and recruiters.
  • Workshops: Job seeker workshops will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., covering topics such as compensation and negotiation, SkillBridge and training opportunities, and interview preparation.
  • Hiring fair: From 1:30 to 4 p.m., attendees can participate in a career fair featuring organizations across industries including cyber/IT, defense contracting, aerospace and aviation, project management, administration, and health care.

The Hiring Our Heroes Career Summit is free and open to active-duty service members, National Guard members, veterans and military spouses. In addition, base access is not required in order to attend the event. Attendees are encouraged to register in advance to secure a spot.
