Advancing Financial Stewardship: CRIS Completes Comprehensive Business Rules Update and Delivers 25 Years of Historical Financial Data to Advana-FASTR Published Jan. 28, 2026 By Joshua Wissinger and Matthew Rookard Business and Enterprise Systems MAXWELL AFB-GUNTER ANNEX, Ala. -- The Commanders' Resources Integration System (CRIS) Program Management Office (PMO) is a data warehouse that integrates financial data from system interface partners to provide visibility to financial transactions across the Air Force. The CRIS PMO has achieved another significant milestone in support of enhanced financial analysis capabilities across the Air Force. The CRIS PMO successfully delivered all historical raw files and a completely updated set of business rules to the Advanced Analytics Financial Air and Space Team Resources (Advana-FASTR) platform, continuing its dedication to ensuring uninterrupted access to critical financial data in support of warfighter mission requirements. The CRIS PMO completed the monumental task of transferring approximately 1.7 million CRIS historical raw files to Advana-FASTR, spanning from the program's inception through the end of FY24. This complex 41-day operation required seamless coordination between the CRIS PMO, the CRIS Systems Integrator (SI), Advana-FASTR, and Cloud One Data Transport (C1DT). The transferred historical files encompass over 25 years of comprehensive financial records, providing an unparalleled historical perspective that enables sophisticated trend analysis and supports long-term strategic planning initiatives. Throughout this process, the data was systematically compiled, organized, and indexed by the CRIS SI, securely transferred via C1DT, and meticulously validated and archived by Advana-FASTR to ensure data integrity and accessibility for future analytical requirements. In parallel with this data transfer initiative, the CRIS PMO undertook the equally critical task of updating all of its business rules documentation. This comprehensive effort required over 600 hours of dedicated manpower over three months, culminating in the production of 15 comprehensive documents totaling 1,786 pages and 305,028 words. This extensive documentation effort ensures consistent and accurate application of CRIS data, providing the necessary framework to properly interpret and utilize the transferred historical data. These achievements deliver transformative Air Force-wide impact through enhanced data accessibility and analytical capabilities. By centralizing CRIS historical data within Advana-FASTR, authorized users across the enterprise gain streamlined access to critical financial information, while updated business rules ensure unwavering data consistency and accuracy for more reliable analysis and improved data congruency. This comprehensive dataset empowers the financial management community and leadership at all organizational levels to make informed, data-driven decisions regarding resource allocation, program performance evaluation and strategic financial management initiatives. Additionally, improved data access and enhanced quality standards enable the financial management community to effectively meet compliance requirements across various financial and regulatory mandates. The CRIS PMO's unwavering dedication to delivering comprehensive historical data and meticulously updated business rules to Advana-FASTR exemplifies its steadfast commitment to advancing financial analysis capabilities throughout the Air Force. These substantial achievements establish a foundation for lasting impact on data accessibility, strategic decision-making processes, and enterprise-wide resource management excellence, ensuring the Air Force maintains its competitive edge in financial stewardship and operational effectiveness.
