JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO–KELLY FIELD ANNEX, Texas -- The Air Force Services Center recently received more than a half million dollars from the Department of the Air Force’s Trademark Licensing program to support DAF Morale, Welfare and Recreation programs.
U.S. Air Force Col. Will Powell, commander of the Air Force Public Affairs Agency, presented the check for $510,000 to U.S. Air Force Col. E. Jonelle Eychner, commander of the Air Force Services Center, recognizing the continued impact of the DAF’s Trademark Licensing program.
The Trademark Licensing program is a self-sustaining effort that generates revenue through royalties earned by licensing the Air Force and Space Force brands, including the Thunderbirds, the Air Force Academy, Air Force One, and the Memphis Belle to hundreds of companies, while ensuring officially licensed products align with Air Force and Space Force core values. Since fiscal year 2008, the program has contributed approximately $9 million to support MWR initiatives across the DAF.
“It’s a real honor to help all the Department of the Air Force’s families and Airmen and Guardians who will benefit from this,” Powell said.
The funds will be used by the AFSVC to support digital modernization efforts for MWR facilities, including investments in information technology and e-commerce solutions designed to improve customer awareness and access to services.
“These are symbiotic relationships,” said Wallace David Collins, marketing chief of the Air Force Services Center, referring to the partnership between the AFSVC and the Trademark Licensing office.
“Making that connection with the customer in a digital space, that’s what this money is going toward,” Collins said.
According to AFSVC officials, the investment will improve MWR websites and digital tools, making it easier for Airmen, Guardians and their families to find and use MWR locations, programs and services across installations.
“Building digital communities is huge. We’ve been working on that for a long time,” Collins said.
The annual contribution highlights AFPAA’s role in protecting the Air Force and Space Force brands while reinvesting licensing revenue into quality-of-life programs that support Airmen, Guardians and their families.
