MAXWELL AFB-GUNTER ANNEX, Ala. -- The Precision Measurement Equipment Automated Management System (PAMS) took on the agile mentality, elevating the program management office’s team to a new level.
Challenged with subsuming another program, the PAMS team has been focused on integrating resources and merging the Air Force Metrology and Calibration program into PAMS to help meet the Department’s goal of reducing the number of maintenance systems across both the Space and Air Forces.
In three months, the PAMS Agile Team tackled over 120 backlog items, enabling key program functionality releases to users worldwide. Simultaneously, the PAMS team took a holistic look at ways to manage trouble tickets coming in from the field. Through their diligent efforts, they overhauled their management service desk, migrating from contract support to an internal reporting structure.
As a result, resolution time for 328 tickets was reduced from 18 days to just an average of nine hours, improving support for 5,000 users.
In recognition of these efforts, the PAMS team was awarded the Small Team Award for the second quarter by Business and Enterprise Systems Program Executive Officer, Alvin Burse.
