Military members and civilian employees at Hill Air Force Base participated in an Earth Day cleanup event April 22, focusing on the installation's south side fence line along SR-193.

The effort, organized by the 75th Civil Engineer Group, aimed to clear debris from the area to improve safety and reduce the chance of materials blowing onto Hill AFB’s active runway. Volunteers worked throughout the morning, collecting trash and discarded items along the fence.

Organizers said the cleanup was a small but meaningful way to support environmental stewardship and maintain base conditions.

“Thank you to all the volunteers who took time out of their day to help clean up along Hill Air Force Base’s fence line,” said Christopher Upeslacis, 75th Civil Engineer Group. "Your efforts made a real difference in keeping our base safe and looking great.”
