HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The Military and Family Readiness Center is hosting a Spouses Resource Fair at Hanscom AFB March 19.
The event is open to military spouses from all branches of service and will take place at the Community Support Center from 2 to 5 p.m. Children are welcome to attend with their parents or caregivers.
“Spouses are an integral part of our community,” said Julie Frederick, 66th Force Support Squadron community readiness consultant. “There can be a disconnect between service member and spouse as they arrive and acclimate to the base and it’s important for them to be aware of the resources that are available.”
Frederick recommends allowing for at least 30 minutes to visit the fair, but attendees can spend as much or as little time as they need to talk to representatives, learn about resources and opportunities, and ask questions.
“Spouses have a lot on their plates, and this fair is designed to be a one-stop shop for information,” Frederick said. “Plus, there will be cool swag and a drawing for a door prize.”
Participating organizations include:
Friends of Family Services
Child Development Center
Family Child Care
Federal Voting Assistance Program
USO
Military One Source
The Community Support Center is located at 10 Kirkland Street, building 1240.
The Hanscom AFB M&FRC offers a variety of services and programs for active-duty, guard and reserve members, DoD civilians, retirees and their families.
