During the Department of the Air Force Information Technology and Cyberpower (DAFITC) Conference, the Business and Enterprise Systems (BES) Director of Small Business, Yolanda McCain, hosted Small Business Presentations, Panel Discussions, and a Small Business Matchmaking/Networking event.

This year’s Presentations and Panel Discussions focused on Reducing Barriers to Doing Business with Federal Agencies.

The Presentations and Panel Discussions were designed to provide industry partners an introduction and awareness on how to connect and engage with federal agencies and opportunities that are available to them.

Attendees were provided briefings from BES Director of Small Business Programs, Yolanda McCain, the U.S. Small Business Administration, Alabama Small Business Development Center, APEX Accelerator, Center for Disease Control (CDC), General Services Administration (GSA), and employees from BES Contracting.

During the Small Business Matchmaker/Networking event, industry partners were able to engage and connect with government personnel from multiple agencies and network with industry partners to explore common business interests and opportunities with the federal government through strategic alignments.

“The sessions were well attended as always,” said McCain. “This year’s focus was introducing agencies, and a discussion sharing how to engage and learn about acquisition opportunities within those agencies. In addition to BES Government representatives and Industry Prime

participants, we expanded the matchmaker to include representatives from Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Cyber and Networks Directorate, the General Services Administration and Health and Human Services -Center for Disease Control (CDC). Next year we look to continue collaborating across agencies and including technical content relevant to Government requirements and focus areas.”
