According to local military cybersecurity experts, there is a fake website that is mirroring DoD SAFE. DoD SAFE (Secure Access File Exchange) Service makes it easy to exchange unclassified files up to 8.0 GB that can't be sent through email services.

However, it is not a “.mil” site. Instead, it is a “net” site, which is a fake site.

Please ensure when using DoD SAFE, that it’s the proper “.mil” site at https://safe.apps.mil/. Always check that you are using the correct “.mil” site, not the fake site, to prevent a breach/security matter from happening.

Cyber hygiene is a reference to the practices and steps that users of computers and other devices take to maintain system health and improve online security. These practices are often part of a routine to ensure the safety of identity and other details that could be stolen or corrupted.
