WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio - The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Business and Enterprise Systems (BES) Directorate recently deployed the Aircraft Missiles and Requirements file maintenance capability via Sustainment Planning, Execution, and Reporting System (SPERS) v2.0.0.0.
SPERS, supports the annual $22 billion Centralized Asset Management (CAM) Weapon System Sustainment program by tracking depot workload and work specifications that feed into the Depot Purchased Equipment Maintenance (DPEM) program.
SPERS is a Weapon System Sustainment (WSS) requirement and budget planning system and is the system of record for establishing and assigning Program Control Number codes. The capability captures the requirements for maintenance hours and tasks in support of Air Force scheduled organic aircraft and missile heavy depot maintenance.
“With the 13 February 2023 release, the program offices will be able to codify tasks and the associated man-hours required to overhaul aircraft and missiles, and the vital information for workload planning at the Air Force depots,” said Charles Weeks, CAM Technical Manager. “Additionally, this represents an additional increment in the development of SPERS towards its goal of consolidating two legacy systems, with an estimated cost avoidance of $6 million. This delivers a cost-effective single source capability for the Sustainment Community and necessary information to support the WSS Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution process.”
The success of this release is a direct result of a collaborative effort and commitment between the SPERS Capability Delivery Team (CDT), Air Force Materiel Command A4 Functionals, Strike Team 1, and 581st Software Engineering Squadron (System Integrator).
“It is because of this integrated team and our desire to achieve high performance that we are able to succeed and meet the requirements of an ambitious schedule” stated 581st Software Project Manager, Jennifer Willis.
The next step for SPERS is to deliver the Logistics Requirements Determination Process (LRDP) capability to the customer this year.
