HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. –To inform the Hanscom-area acquisition workforce about test efforts and capabilities, the 96th Cyberspace Test Group, Detachment 1, located here, will host its Hanscom Air Force Base Semiannual Test Workshop March 29.

Officials will hold the in-person event from 8 a.m.to noon at the Concord Auditorium of the Hanscom Conference Center. A virtual component via Microsoft Teams will also be available.

The workshop will highlight the latest testing developments in Joint All-Domain Command and Control, or JADC2, which according to Capt. Samuel Howard, lead test manager, 96 CTG Det 1, is war-fighting necessity.

“The modernization and development of systems, software, and networks add challenges to a multi-domain battlespace,” he said. “It is crucial to test and evaluate these acquisition efforts early to ensure integration and interoperability in a realistic and changing environment. The 96 CTG and other test organizations are building testing solutions that can help meet these requirements.”

Members of 45th and 46th Test Squadrons, the 47th and 48th Cyberspace Test Squadrons, and the 96th Cyberspace Test Group, will brief, host break-out sessions, and answer questions. In addition, guest speakers will include Brig. Gen. Jeffrey T. Geraghty, commander, 96th Test Wing, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, and Maj. Joseph Nangle and Maj. Justin Farnell from the Joint Assessment Division of the Joint Staff, also headquartered at Eglin.

Discussion topics will include overviews of the 96 CTG mission and JADC2, software development of Command, Control, Communications and Battle Management, or C3BM, mission systems, Advanced Battle Management System, or ABMS, testing, and test efforts in the Northern Edge, Bold Quest, and Emerald Flag exercises.

“Our goal for this workshop is to not only convey current test and cybersecurity capabilities, tools, and resources, but to also promote cross-talk and real-time discussions among the test and acquisition communities,” said Howard. “Ultimately, we want to help streamline connections to the right test entities and help program personnel obtain the support needed.”

All attendees must RSVP by March 27 to participate. Slots are only available for military members and Department of Defense civilian employees and contractors.
