“The AFLCMC environment has changed rapidly without pause, and Focus Week provides courses to help our workforce manage these changes while enhancing their career development” said Jason Sibrel, AFLCMC Focus Week Program Manager.

AFLCMC’s Focus Week has a long history of providing our workforce with a dedicated week that is set aside quarterly offering key acquisition, cross-functional, and leadership courses -- many of which provide valuable Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) for our Acquisition-Coded personnel.

“A vast majority of the Focus Week courses are now held virtually and are open to the entire AFLCMC workforce, regardless of geographic location. Course attendance has increased dramatically as a result of the virtual learning environment,” added Sibrel.

To make Focus Week successful and meaningful, AFLCMC relies heavily on Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from within the Center to teach courses in key subject areas. Having courses taught by SMEs allows Focus Week to remain a low cost event while also providing a direct transfer of knowledge of the unique skill sets within the Center. Our Focus Week offerings also include numerous courses from the Air Force Institute of Technology, the Defense Acquisition University, the National Museum of the United States Air Force plus various other partnering organizations.

Each quarter, AFLCMC’s DP’s Workforce Management Division assembles a comprehensive course catalog of all scheduled offerings and provides registration assistance to interested participants. The catalog for the April 25-29 2022 Focus Week is posted on the Focus Week SharePoint site. To register for courses, attendees must use the AcqNowCL site.

AFLCMC Focus Week courses are generally open to all federal employees. Contractors may attend these classes as long as they request approval from their Government POC to ensure participation is in accordance with the training requirements outlined in their contract prior to enrolling.
