WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB, Ohio (AFLCMC) – As COVID rates spike and many communities continue efforts to maintain distance, the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center is looking for volunteers to help keep everyone connected with the Key Spouse Program.

The Key Spouse Program is an official Air Force unit family readiness program to help promote a cohesive unit and wingman support.  It empowers spouses and creates resilient families and strong Air Force communities through effective communication flow between leadership and unit families.

“This is a really challenging time for many of our family members.  It is important we stay remain connected so they know where to go if they need information or other types of support,” said Senior Master Sgt. Elise Phillips, AFLCMC First Sergeant.

The Key Spouse Program is a vital link in exchanging information between leadership and families, provides a peer-to-peer support system for handling military life experiences and can direct you to community information, volunteer opportunities, and referral services.

Training is critical to the Key Spouse and Key Spouse Mentors effectively carrying out official duties, Phillips added. They must receive an orientation from their KS unit leadership team which sets the foundation for the goals and objectives of the program. Initial training is facilitated by the installation Airman & Family Readiness Center for all newly appointed members.

Civilian employees and spouses can also volunteer to be a Key Spouse.  For more information, call (937) 255-8525 or email elise.phillips.1@us.af.mil.
