HANSCOM AIR FORCE, Mass. – The 96th Cyberspace Test Group, Detachment 1, will host its annual test workshop Oct. 21 at 9 a.m. in the Conference Center here.
The theme for this year’s event is “Test – Today and in the Future” and although the primary audience is test managers, organizers recommend anyone who works on Hanscom’s acquisition programs and would like to learn about testing and what capabilities the 96th can provide should attend.
“We want to connect the Hanscom acquisition community with the test community to enhance relationships and share ideas,” said Lt. Col. Josef Peterson, commander, 96 CTG, Det 1. “We also want to provide awareness of test community resources and initiatives.”
Brig. Gen. Scott Cain, 96th Test Wing commander, Eglin AFB, Florida, is the keynote speaker. He will talk about the organization’s capability and how it connects with Hanscom’s programs. Lt. Col. Karlos “Klench” Tungol, 45th Test Squadron commander at Eglin, and Peterson will speak about the types of support the 96th provides and can provide Hanscom.
One of the event’s organizers, Capt. John Davis, Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance test manager, 96 CTG, Det 1, said speakers will talk about current test capabilities and changes that are on the way.
“They’ll cover areas such as the importance of performing developmental testing early in the process to minimize risk and how methodologies like Agile fit in,” he said.
Joseph Bradley, director of the Cyber Resiliency Office for Weapon Systems and director of Engineering and Technical Management at Hanscom, will kick off the event. In addition to Cain, Tungol and Peterson, other speakers are from the Center Test Authority for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Hanscom, the 45th Test Squadron at Eglin and the International Test and Evaluation Association.
“We want this event to foster new ideas,” said Davis. “We’re trying to get as many people as we can to join the conversation.”
