Schmidt pins on first star Published Jan. 21, 2016 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Brig. Gen. Michael Schmidt, the Program Executive Officer for Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Special Operations Forces was recently promoted to the rank of brigadier general during a ceremony held here Jan. 14. The ISF/SOF Office is responsible for developing, producing, testing, modifying, fielding, and supporting all Air Force ISR and SOF platforms and related sub-systems. Schmidt entered the Air Force in 1991 after graduating from Iowa State University as an ROTC distinguished graduate with a degree in industrial engineering. He has served as an engineer and program manager on numerous programs throughout his Air Force career and is a graduate of the Air Force Legislative Fellows Program and the National War College. He has held his current position since July 2014.
