Hanscom hosts several functional specific Trainee Councils which focus on establishing and maintaining a network beneficial for learning and information exchange between New Trainees within each of the functionals:

• Contracting
• Program Management
• Financial Management
• Engineering

Please consider participating in any of the available Councils that are applicable to you! These Councils are specifically created to aid you in establishing a network with other Trainees, develop ideas, and help understand the various divisions as well as their purposes within Hanscom while also hosting fun filled events.
 

Hanscom also hosts the Hanscom Trainee Council which works on establishing and maintaining a network between each of the functionals.

Each functional is highly important to the Acquisition process and the ability to learn and understand their requirements early on in your career can provide you with valuable inside as you work on a program together.

• Contracting (PK) focuses on establishing and maintaining the contract as well as the Contractor's obligation to follow the terms and conditions of the contract in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).

• Program Management (PM) focuses on the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to a program to meet the program requirements and to obtain benefits and control not available by managing projects individually.

• Financial Management (FM) focuses on ensuring accuracy, transparency, and integrity while effectively handling program money through planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of funds to assure the proper accounting of finances by the Contractor and the Government for each program.

• Logistics (LG) focuses on the process of planning and executing the efficient transportation and storage of goods from the point of origin to the point of consumption in order to meet customer program requirements in a timely, cost-effective manner.

• Engineering (EN) focuses on providing advised, experienced counsel on issues that are critical to the well-being and health of our nation and its future, including the well-being and health of our allies and partner nations and their future.

• Security focuses on providing national security and protection to all members of the acquisition team so that they can properly meet their goals.
