DUNCAN A. DVERSDALL Duncan “D-Squared” Dversdall is the Assistant to the Commander for Special Programs and Chief of the Center Special Programs Division, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Plans and Programs Directorate, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He advises the Center Commander and Senior Staff to enable development, fielding and sustainment of SAP weapon systems by facilitating integration across the Center through access, awareness and oversight. He provides knowledge and assistance on all aspects of SAP activities, including accesses, facilities, personnel, information technology and policy. Duncan Dversdall graduated from the University of Oklahoma and was commissioned into the Air Force in 1987. After commissioning, Second Lieutenant Dversdall was assigned to the Windshield Systems Program Office, Wright Laboratory at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio. There, he led the technology development and transition programs that resulted in new windshield designs being fielded for theT-38, F-16, F-15 and B-1B. Captain Dversdall was then assigned to the test and evaluation office of the B-1B Systems Program Office, Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. In that position, he led the test management and planning for the first two phases of the B-1B Conventional Missions Upgrade Program. In December 1996, he graduated from the USAF Test Pilot School and was assigned to the 419th Flight Test Squadron at Edwards AFB, California. At the 419 FLTS, he led the Block D Conventional Missions Upgrade program. This program integrated the Joint Direct Attack Munition, providing the B-1B with its first guided weapon capability. After completing of that program, he was assigned as the Branch Chief for Project Management where he was responsible for the overall management of flight testing on all USAF bombers (B-1B, B-2A and B-52H). Major Dversdall was chosen the AFMC Tester of the Year for 1998. In January 2000, he was assigned to the Air Force Red Team, Directorate of Special Programs, Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Pentagon, Washington D.C. There, he led independent technical assessments of the vulnerabilities of aircraft, sensors and weapon systems. In July 2003, Major Dversdall was assigned as the Deputy Commander, 412th Operations Group, Edwards AFB, California, where led the execution of flight testing in 10 flight test squadrons and over 2,700 personnel including 400 aircrew. He also served as the Chief Flight Test Engineer at the Air Force Flight Test Center. In June 2005, Lieutenant Colonel Dversdall assumed command of the 846th Test Squadron, Holloman AFB, New Mexico where he led the Holloman High Speed Test Track, achieving unprecedented levels of precision and accuracy in testing at hypersonic speeds. In 2007 he was assigned to Air Force Research Laboratory as the Chief of the Materials and Manufacturing Directorate’s Systems Support Division. He led materials forensics analysis in support of accident investigations Air Force wide. Following that, Colonel Dversdall served as the Deputy Director for the Sensors Directorate, leading sensor technology development and prototype demonstrations in Afghanistan. In his last active duty assignment, Colonel Dversdall was the Vice Commander for the Deputy Director, Air Force Security Assistance and Cooperation Directorate leading the creation and maintenance of relationships with our partners around the world as we seek to increase interoperability between our Air Forces. He retired from active duty on 1 January 2014. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, the Aerial Achievement Medal, the Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster and the Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster. After retiring from Active Duty, Mr. Dversdall served as the Chief Engineer for the DoD Anti-Tamper Program office directing technology and assessment efforts for technology protection across the DoD.
