C3I&N personnel to address job opportunity questions via Facebook during a live chat

HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Officials from one of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center acquisition directorates will address questions regarding available positions during a live chat session on Facebook May 5 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. EST to discuss job opportunities.

Subject matter experts from the Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence and Networks directorate will answer questions participants submit in the comment block at https://www.facebook.com/AirForceCivilianService/ about the work the organization does and the type of positions available. Videos showcasing the organization’s work will be available on the site prior to the live session.

“Those chosen for our positions can expect to manage broad information technology and infrastructure programs to develop, deliver and sustain war-winning IT, network infrastructure and network defense cyber capabilities with the best commercial and defense industry partners in the world,” said Annette Gartland, senior resource manager for C3I&N.

Positions available include those not only in IT, but also engineering, program management, contracting and more. The positions are at various locations, such as Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts; Lackland/San Antonio, Texas; Gunter Annex at Maxwell AFB, Alabama; and Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio.

“People filling these positions will help develop and field the latest weapon system technology for cyberspace, communication and cryptologic capability across the Department of Defense,” said Gartland.

Journeyman to senior-level positions are available. Benefits include paid sick and vacation time and flexible work schedules.

This live session is a precursor to a digital hiring event May 19-20.

“We wanted to offer this earlier opportunity in order to inform as many interested parties as possible about these important positions and to let them know about the upcoming hiring event,” said Amber Krauss, from the AFLCMC personnel office.

For the hiring event, interested parties need to register at https://afcs.recsolu.com/external/events/31xn6KkMrWUI8gkiSvJTJQ where they should also submit resumes, unofficial/official transcripts, and when applicable, copies of SF-50, DD214 (copy 2 or 4), a Veterans Administration disability letter or a Schedule ‘A’ letter.

Documents must be received no later than May 10 for consideration. Hiring officials will review all resumes submitted. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

During the hiring event, officials will hold virtual interviews and there is the potential for applicants to be hired on-the-spot or shortly thereafter, said Krauss.
