The United States Postal Service honored the 96th Security Forces Squadron with a dedication of its recently released military working dog stamp set here Oct. 9.

The MWD flight handlers received framed sets of the stamps, which feature four types of working dogs – the German Shepherd, Labrador Retriever, Belgian Malinois and the Dutch Shepherd.

“On behalf of the 96th SFS, we’re excited and honored by this presentation,” said Lt. Col. Lucas Hall, 96th SFS commander.  “Thank you to the post office team who put this together.  It means a lot.”

After the presentation, guests received a tour of the MWD facility and a demonstration.  To close out the dedication, one USPS attendee donned the protective suit for a bite exhibition by MWD Caro.

The stamps were released Aug. 1 and are available for purchase at local post offices.
