WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – Brooke Belickis, a former Focus Week Program Manager with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Personnel Directorate, recently accepted on behalf of the directorate’s Workforce Development Division, the ‘Ongoing Commitment to Human Capital’ award from Ohio State University’s Alber Enterprise Center (AEC).
AEC presented the award to highlight Belickis’ and the Workforce Development Division for providing beneficial courses to AFLCMC employees through quarterly Focus Week’s.
“It is an honor to receive this award and be recognized,” said Eric Dilworth, AFLCMC Director of Personnel. “AFLCMC’s greatest strength is its people, which is why we place a big emphasis on ensuring they have the educational opportunities they need to grow personally and professionally.”
AFLCMC has partnered with AEC since 2016 to develop soft skills classes for Focus Week.
Focus Week is a week that AFLCMC sets aside to accomplish mandatory leadership and acquisition training, and give employees an opportunity to gain knowledge from different disciplines.
Several Focus Week courses have included: “Thinking Smarter-Critical Thinking,” “Teamwork Magic,” “The Essentials of Communicating with Diplomacy,” “Breakthrough Communications,” “The Credible Professional,” “Finding Your Strengths” and “Organization Skills for the Overwhelmed.”
These courses are designed to teach employees soft skills and increase workplace performance.
Human capital investment is the process of training and educating employees to enhance their individual assets and productivity. It places a value on a company's employees and allows them to improve their work ethic and communication skills.
