The Defense Department is focused on improving the relocation process for service members and their families under the new Global Household Goods Contract, or GHC, program.

The program, currently being implemented at select locations including Hill Air Force Base, aims to enhance the moving experience for servicemembers and their families.

Alicia Clark, transportation officer at Hill AFB, said the program streamlines the management of personal property shipments within CONUS, offering advanced online scheduling systems, 24/7 customer support, names and photos of moving crews, shipment in-transit information, and electronic inventories with photos.

MilitaryOneSource.mil has launched an information page providing a comprehensive overview of the GHC. The page features an introduction to HomeSafe Alliance—a company that manages a network of commercial moving companies—featured benefits, scheduling shipments, FAQs, fact sheets, and podcasts.

A new podcast detailing key changes in the management of personal property shipments under GHC is available. Visit the GHC information page to listen to the 12-minute podcast and gain insights on the upcoming changes for Permanent Change of Station (PCS) moves.

The full transition to GHC is scheduled to span several years, with new military installations phased in over time.
