TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex held a change of command ceremony here June 27, 2023.
Maj. Gen. Jeffrey R. King relinquished command to Col. Brian R. Moore in a ceremony presided by Lt. Gen. Stacey T. Hawkins, Air Force Sustainment Center commander.
“Maj. Gen. King is one the most engaged senior leaders serving on active duty today across our Air Force,” said Hawkins. “His sustained excellence over many challenging leadership tests, both as a commander in the field and as a policy maker around one of the most important headquartered staff organizations, has led to spectacular results.”
Moore, no stranger to Tinker, was formerly the AFSC Vice Commander from June 2018 to July 2019 as well as the 552nd Air Control Wing’s Maintenance Group Commander from Aug. 2016 to June 2018.
“It is fitting to be here in Building 9001 and Building 3001 like it [because] these facilities are iconic in their own right signifying great industrial strength for more than 80 years and a critical part of our defense,” said Moore. “I can’t think of a better venue clearly demonstrating awesome maintenance, repair and overhaul capacity as such a significant part of our defense industrial base and nation’s defense. “To lead this complex and serve our workforce, a privilege few have been afforded in the past, it is the honor of a lifetime.”
King, who will move to the Pentagon for his next assignment, took his opportunity to thank colleagues and family during the ceremony.
“This is the most welcoming community in which we’ve lived over these many years, and y’all have made it especially hard to leave, but all good things must end so that others may begin,” King said. “I pray our paths cross again sometime down the road.”
