AFLCMC Commander's Memorial Day message

Lieutenant General Shaun Q. Morris, AFLCMC Commander has these thoughts for Memorial Day:

Portrait of Lt Gen Shaun Morris"In 1868, our Nation celebrated its first observance of Memorial Day on May 30 at Arlington National Cemetery. This year, Memorial Day gives us an opportunity to pause, reflect, and remember the many sacrifices of more than one million Service members who gave their lives in defense of our freedoms. It is also a time to pay tribute to the families of the fallen, as well as our wounded warriors and their families.  To them, we owe a debt of gratitude for their courageous, patriotic, and selfless service.  While you spend time with friends and family during this long weekend, I encourage you to remember our fallen patriots and their families as well as those AFLCMC members who are currently deployed.

This weekend is also the unofficial start of summer. Whether you are staying home or planning to travel and participate in summer activities (hiking, swimming, boating), please be safe and be prudent in your decisions.

Thank you for what you do every day. All of you are key to our Center's ability to deliver cutting-edge capabilities to our Warfighters. We need each and every one of you to accomplish the mission."
