TESTING OF THE SMARTVAULT HOUSEHOLD GOODS SHIPPING CONTAINER
QUALIFICATION TESTING OF THE SMARTVAULT HOUSEHOLD GOODS SHIPPING CONTAINER
AFPTEF was tasked to perform qualification testing of the SmartVault Container, manufactured by SmartMove, Inc., for the U.S. Army Surface Deployment and Distribution Command's (SDDC) approval as a military household goods container. Testing, with minor SDDC-approved modifications, was performed in accordance with SDDC Pamphlet No. 55-12 and ASTM D4169, Distribution Cycle 18 and MIL-STD-810. The final test report was furnished to Smart Move, Inc. and to SDDC for their use in determining final approval of the SmartVault.

QUALIFICATION TESTING OF THE AIR WARFARE BATTLELAB PLASTIC PALLETS
AFPTEF performed testing on recycled plastic pallets for use with the MXU-650 Bomb Fin containers (drums) for Air Warfare Battlelab, Mountain Home. Testing was performed to ensure that the plastic pallets would provide shipping, handling, and outdoor storage ability for the containers. Testing, with slight modifications, was performed in accordance with ASTM D 1185 and ASTM D 4169, and consisted of stacking, rough-handling, and vibration tests. All tests were performed at AFPTEF. All pallets and containers used in testing were supplied by Air Warfare Battlelab.

UN SPECIFICATION PACKAGING PERFORMANCE TESTING FOR DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY POP PROGRAM
AFPTEF performs UN specification packaging performance (also known as "Performance Oriented Packaging) testing for many types of hazardous materials containers for any DOD or other government office. Each year we test many of the hazardous materials packaging configurations found in the Defense Logistics Agency's "POP Program". We also test flexible jerry cans and fuel bladders used by Army and Air Force special ops teams for waiver approvals, and various munitions containers.

DEVELOPMENT OF PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE BLOUNT ISLAND COMMAND PALLET
At the request of the USMC Blount Island Command (BIC), AFPTEF developed a performance specification for two types of reusable, long-life consolidation containers for shipping and storage of USMC pre-positioning supplies: the Container Consolidation Pallet (CCP) and the Vehicle Consolidation Pallet (VCP). The CCP and VCP were required to be compatible with pre-existing CCPs and VCPs, and the USMC prepositioning logistics system, especially the standard 8 ft. x 8 ft. x 20 ft. ISO shipping containers, warehouses and cargo holds. AFPTEF participated in both the pre-proposal meeting and proposal evaluations following BICs Request for Proposals (RFP) during the summer of 2006. Testing was performed in accordance with the AFPTEF developed test plans which referenced the contract performance specification, ASTM D 4169 and MIL-STD-648. All tests were performed at AFPTEF, except for the Loading/Unloading Test which was conducted at BIC on Friday, 17 February 2007. The final VCP and CCP designs successfully met all requirements of the performance specification.
