WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB, Ohio -- The Business and Enterprise Systems (BES) Agile Services Office engaged with the Logistics Readiness Portfolio to significantly advance the Cargo Personnel Movement System (CPMS) product line’s agile transformation efforts.

The Agile Coaching team provided critical support in creating, reviewing, and refining the CPMS Agile Strategy, conducting targeted training, and facilitating key workshops such as the Product Owner 101, Scrum 101, and Backlog Refinement sessions.

These efforts, in concert with numerous one-to-one and one-to-many coaching and mentoring opportunities with the software development teams supporting Movements Automated Record Keeping System, On-Line Vehicle Interactive Management System, and Cargo Movement Operations System , have not only improved CPMS strategic team composition, but laid the groundwork for the successful implementation of the Scrum Framework for all CPMS products.

By establishing a comprehensive Change Management Plan and mentoring new, dedicated Scrum Masters, the coaching engagement has fostered a culture of continuous improvement, curiosity, and adaptability across this product line.

The successful incorporation of healthy change management practices rooted in proven change management models – Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, and Reinforcement – has been pivotal in shaping the CPMS agile transformation roadmap.

Through a focused approach on (1) building awareness of the need for change, (2) creating a desire for the new processes, (3) enhancing knowledge through targeted training, and (4) developing the ability to execute, the coaching team has ensured that the transformation is not just strategic, but also sustainable.

CPMS’s dedication and receptivity to agile training has been instrumental in this success, enabling them to make significant progress in their agile journey and begin preparations for their first Sprint in early first quarter of fiscal year 2025.

This ongoing collaboration between agile coaches and product leadership has ensured that the agile transformation roadmap is both actionable and aligned with CPMS strategic goals. Under the guidance of Agile Coaches, CPMS will continue to drive enhanced productivity and value delivery across their product line in the coming months.
