WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio (AFLCMC) - At an event more than 25 years in the making, AFLCMC senior leaders gathered in July 2025 to open a time capsule buried by the Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC), a predecessor to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. The capsule revealed how ASC leaders in 1999 envisioned the future of warfighting and the United States Air Force, offering messages of strategic foresight and enduring optimism. Later this year, AFLCMC plans to seal a new time capsule of its own, with instructions for it to be opened in 2050.
